THE PREMISE
We’ve got it backwards! How many times have you seen it? Junior golfers seeing the course for the first time being placed on the forward tees, hundreds of yards away from the hole, and we expect that they are going to enjoy this game!? Let’s flip the script! Introducing our new program “Building State Champs” a junior tee advancement program aimed at increasing enjoyment, aiding learning, and encouraging a lifelong love for the game of golf. Junior golfers will be rewarded for completing each of the 9 steps of this program including a rules test, short game assessment, and playing ability tests beginning in close proximity to the green extending back towards our normal sets of tees.
THE RULES
- A witness is required for completion of any level. Both the witness and the player will be required to sign the scorecard before it is turned in. Witnesses can be parents, guardians, or even another junior attempting to pass a level.
- Official attempts must be recorded on special scorecards that you can get in the Pro Shop.
- Let faster players “play through.”
- Repair your divot, and one more.
- Place golf bags and carts a safe distance away from the green.
- Pace of play- 2 hours per nine holes.
- Players are expected to be on the tee box ready for play at their established tee time.
- Limit use of electronic devices to times of need whenever possible.
- 10 shot rule- no player is permitted more than 10 shots per hole.
- With the exception of the 10 shot rule- play USGA rules.

GETTING STARTED
- NO program costs! (applicable greens fees for playing ability tests)
- Open to any and all junior golfers under the age of 16.
- Collect and complete a take home rules test from the Pro Shop.

- Take home, open book test of the rules of golf
- Target score: 70%
- Reward: Dairy Queen treat

PLAYING ABILITY TEST: 50 yds (450 total)
- Front 9 target score: 34
- Reward: Yellow ball marker
- Ages: 12 & under
Level 3
PLAYING ABILITY TEST: 100 yds (850 total)
- Front 9 target score: 34
- Reward: Red ball marker
- Ages: 13 & under

- Front 9 target score: 34
- Reward: Blue ball marker
- Ages: 14 & under
